CROP SUITABILITY EVALUATION OF GRAINS AND COMMERCIAL CROPS IN BARANGAY TOKAWAL, ALABEL, SARANGANI PROVINCE

The study was conducted to identify which areas in Barangay Tokawal, Alabel Sarangani are suitable for corn, rice, banana, and corn. The study was also conducted to generate a land suitability map of corn, rice, corn, and banana in Barangay Tokawal, Alabel, Sarangani using GIS as analyzing tool The results of the study show differences in different areas. The results are highly suitable, suitable class, moderately suitable, marginally suitable, and currently not suitable. Therefore, it concludes that different classes of suitability needed different approaches to get higher yields. Some needs high farm inputs and some area need low farm inputs to get the same results. It also needs to know these areas to maximize the results and to avoid using more farm inputs in areas that not needed them.
