The lettuce is one of the high valued commercial crops utilized and consumed fresh. It also the most sought leafy green vegetable for salad and helps in proper digestion, lowers inflammation and provides supply of antioxidant. More importantly, it has a great impact to farmers for their livelihood. The study is entitled, “The Effect of Rice Hull, Carbonized Rice Hull and Rice Hull Ash on the Growth and Yield of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.)". It was conducted at the nursery area of the College of Agriculture, Mindanao State University-General Santos City during the month of February to March 2019. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in the study. The study has four treatments replicated five times as follows: (TI) control (no application), (12) rice hull, (T3) carbonized rice hull, (T4) rice hull ash. A total 2kg of soil for every treatment is mixed with the clay loam soil in every replication. The pot experiment was conducted for the evaluation of the response of lettuce to the soil amendments for the growth and yield. The study shows that there was no significant difference across treatments in all the parameters tested such as: plant height, number of leaves, width of leaves and yield. This implies that the application of Rice Hull, Carbonized Rice hall and Rice Hull Ash did not affect the growth and yield of lettuce in a day loan soil.
