This is a descriptive-comparative study on parenting styles that Christian and Muslim mothers employ over their children considering four parenting styles of Baumrind (1989) such as authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful.
Non-probability sampling procedure specifically purposive technique was used to identify the sixty (60) respondents in which thirty (30) each. The tool that was being used in data gathering was a questionnaire. The data was analyzed using quantitative analysis. T-test was used to measure the significance of parenting styles between the two types of mothers.
Findings revealed that Christian mothers uses authoritative parenting style while the Muslim mothers uses authoritarian parenting style. However, the study showed that there is no significant difference between parenting styles of Christian mothers and the Muslim mothers.
