This qualitative study sought to uncover the experiences of mothers in assisting their children's learning at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, it presents the assistance they provided, the challenges they experienced, and the coping mechanisms they employed. The participants of the study were three mothers selected who actively engaged assisting their children in their modular learning. A self-constructed in-depth interview guide comprising open-ended questions was used in data gathering. Moreover, the researcher followed simple thematic analysis, and data were analyzed through reading and rereading the transcripts of interviews to determine codes and key themes as the basis of writing their stories.
The findings indicate that the mothers perceived their assistance as significant during the COVID-19 pandemic. They revealed that mothers provided assistance such as guidance in understanding the content of and answering the modules. They also hard times in persuading their children to answer their learning modules. Despite those experiences, mothers still encourage their children to do their responsibilities as a learners. Overall, the idea emphasizes the perspectives of parents who assume the position of home learning assistant for their children. In this new mode of learning, parents' resiliency is emphasized because it is essential to maintain learning continuity at home during the pandemic.
