This study focused on determining the attitude of residents towards crime control measures in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City, precisely the degree of implementation of crime control measures, and the attitude of the residents towards crime control measures. This study utilized a quantitative research design with a descriptive survey approach. Out of 72 613 population of Barangay Fatima, only fifty (50) respondents were included through quota sampling. The respondents of this study were residents aged 20 to 60 years old and that lived two years in the barangay.
A self-made survey questionnaire was used to get for data gathering. The questionnaire contains the degree of implementation of crime control measures and their attitude toward crime control measures. Data from the Philippine National Police station in Barangay Fatima were presented and analyzed through frequency distribution and percentage to determine the crime rate. The data from respondents were presented and analyzed by identifying the mean to determine the crime control measures and their attitude towards crime control measures. The findings revealed that the attitude of the residents shows a positive response to the crime control measures in Barangay Fatima. The crime rate has decreased, and crime control measures were occasionally implemented. Moreover, the attitude of the residents depends on how they handle the crimes and the pandemic simultaneously.
