Author
JUN D. CABLO
Abstract

This study determined the academic stress and coping strategies of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The researcher used the descriptive survey method. The respondents of the study were fifty (50) 2nd year from College of Social Sciences and Humanities students who handled the regular load and who were engaged in online learning. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as the frequency percentage and mean.

The heavy academic load, spending time on tests and exams, fear of failing, dealing with laziness, and procrastination caused stress among the students. Furthermore, they were too tired to study and unable to manage their time effectively. To overcome stress, the respondents took responsibility for their studies even though they were poor and they do not have the resources. They strive hard to do their academic tasks for them to pass their subjects

It is recommended that the future studies can be undertaken using a qualitative approach.
