ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF 4P's (DSWD-ESGP-PA) BENEFECIARIES IN MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY GENERAL SANTOS CITY

This is a descriptive study which determined the Academic performance of 4p's beneficiaries. The study was conducted in Mindanao State University General Santos City. It employed the non-probability sampling procedure. The questionnaire was used in gathering data, frequency and percentage distribution was used in method of data analysis. It determine the Academic performance of 4P's beneficiaries in terms of School attendance, GPA and Class Participation.There were 60 respondents in the study.

The study revealed that majority of the respondents are 22years old others are 23 years old and 24 years. The oldest respondent is 26 years old while the youngest is 21. There are more female respondents. They are from CSSH and COA. Majority of them are single. And there are some married. Majority of them are maguindanaon .Most of them is Ilonggos. Their fathers are farmers while most of their mothers are Housekeeper whos net monthly income is Php5, 500 below. The respondents' semestral allowance from DSWD-ESGP-PA is 20,000.

The study revealed that the academic performance of the DSWD-ESGP-PA beneficiaries in terms of school attendance reveal that they confirm that they get high score in exam and quizzes and they are motivated to attend to their classes .They agree that DSWD-ESGP-PA has helped them to increase their school attendance and perform well in school. All of the respondents agree that they have incurred absences in their classes. Most of the respondents ask their teachers of the things they missed when they were absent from their classes. Most of the respondents said that as a beneficiary it is important to have higher GPA and they GPA is between 1.75 to 2.99. None of the respondents have GPA lower than 3.0.

The respondents have high level of class participation. They always actively participate in the discussion, answering exercises and clarifying things which they do not understand. They often do their assignments regularly and participate in their class discussions .Also; they see to it that extracurricular activities do not hamper their studies.
