EASY-TO-GET-RICH SCHEME: AFTERMATH CHALLENGES AND COPING MECHANISIMS OF INVESTORS IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY

Abstract

This is a survey study on the aftermath challenges and coping mechanism of the investors in General Santos City. A non-probability procedure particularly snowball sampling technique was used to determine the respondents and the needed data gathered through the use of questionnaire. It employed a descriptive survey method. The statistical tools used in analyzing the data are frequency and percentage.

The investors in General Santos City have a wide age range where majority of their population belongs to the age bracket of 46 - 58 years old and majority of them were married. Most of them are males. More than half of them are Roman Catholic. Majority of them are College graduate. Most of the occupations of the respondent are business Majority of them are from Barangay Fatima. Most of the respondents have 1-3 children. They are earning P40,001- P50,000 because of their occupations. Majority of them invested in Kabus Padatuon (KAPA) and most of them invested an amount of P50,001 and above.

Investors experienced financial loss after they invested and loss an amount of P50,001 and above .They also faced other problems besides losing their money and most of them incurred a lot of loans and their business got bankrupt. Majority of them felt so hopeless when they realized their money cannot anymore be returned. Investors also encountered financial difficulties, and majority of them could hardly pay their debts and lost a great amount of income because of their losses. Moreover majority of them become irritable when people ask about their losses and also their relationships to their family and friends deteriorated. However, they tried to keep their feelings from interfering with others. The investors also faced health-related challenges after their losses, they led to problem-drinking and sometimes they don't have food to eat. However, they still managed to eat regularly. At the same time majority of the respondents experienced being extremely worried and felt hopeless. However, they tried to look on bright side of things and focused on what was more important in life.

The investors used varied helpful strategies to cope up with the challenges they have encountered. These are beneficial and advantageous because they always do it, convenient, and appropriate to applicable to their daily lives.
