Abstract

Many LGBTQIA+ students in Mindanao State University-General Santos City are engaging in a romantic relationship; this study aimed to determine the level of learning engagement and academic anxiety of the LGBTQIA+ students who are in a romantic relationship. Through the survey questionnaire made by the researchers, fifty-one (51) respondents were surveyed and the data was correlated using Pearson's r; and the results revealed that the LGBTQIA+ students who are in a romantic relationship have high level of learning engagement and have very low academic anxiety. Moreover, the test of association revealed that there was a moderate negative relationship between their level of learning engagement and level of academic anxiety. Therefore, it implies that engaging in a romantic relationship improves their learning engagement, and it does not necessarily lead to academic anxiety.
