Senior Citizens Act or R.A 9994, also known as "Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010", an act granting additional Benefits and Privileges to Senior Citizens, further amending Republic Act No. 7432, As amend, otherwise known as "An Act to maximize the Contribution of Senior Citizens to nation building, grant Benefits and Special Privileges and for other purposes. Privileges and Benefits of the Senior Citizens are being implemented throughout the country and with the provided Internal Rules and Regulations to properly execute the law. With the application of qualitative and quantitative research design, this study used Key Informant Interview (KII), in-depth interview and a a survey questionnaire. The Head of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs was interviewed and also five (5) senior citizens from selected barangays were interviewed for the in-depth interview. Thirty (30) senior citizens from selected barangays served as respondents for the survey.
The researcher found out that the privileges and Benefits of senior citizens are being granted to them by the help of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs as they play a major role in providing quality of life of senior citizens, as a result of the research study the overall mean of the three (3) Barangays was 1.50% and was interpreted as Less Effective. The self-disclosure and feedbacks from the beneficiaries contribute a lot in the analysis of the data gathered as they are the primary subject of the law. And with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs defensive measures the implementation of the law in the city will become harmonious between the senior citizens and the benefactors.
