The general content of this paper revolves around the T'boli who fight to claim their lands, those people involved in land conflict resolution in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, the way to settling disputes using the Indigenous Customary Conflict Resolution mechanism, and the other alteratives or solutions that are employed when Customary Resolution fails. The aim of this paper is to explain the reasons the T'boli tribe why choose to fight over their lands and how they deal with the conflicts they encountered.
With the application of qualitative and descriptive types of research, this study used structured interviews for the Key Informants Interview (KII) and Archival Research. Eight (8) complainants and four (4) respondents of those involved in the land conflict were interviewed and three (3) tribal leaders of Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
The study found out that The T'boli tribe fights to claim their land to secure the future of the next generation. Then the complainants, respondents, and the tribal leaders are the people involved in Land Conflict Resolution. The ways how they settled land conflict with the relation to amicable settlement the tribal leader will send an invitation to the respondents, documents background check to both parties, and negotiation to come up with an amicable settlement.
Lastly, the Katarungang Pambarangay and the office of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) are the other alternatives or solution when the Customary Conflict Resolution Mechanism fail. The tribal leaders will endorse the unresolved conflict to the Barangay and when it also fails to solve using an amicable dispute, the Barangay then will endorse it again to the NCIP.
