Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the relationship between the utilization of an accounting information system in cooperatives in General Santos City and its part in the decision making process of the institution. Moreover, it also examines the engagement of an information system into the cooperative's planning and observation process. The researchers chose to apply a descriptive study, wherein a questionnaire was produced. Researchers employed a random purposive sampling technique to collect data from respondents, with a total of 100 people participating (10 people were randomly picked from each cooperative). According to the findings, the cooperative's decision-making, planning, and monitoring are all greatly aided by the use of the accounting information system. The weighted mean scores of 4.85 for decision making, 4.78 for planning, and 4.80 for observation lend credence to this. A high degree of precision in the company's financial operations and record-keeping is thus made possible through the use of the accounting information system. With this in mind, it's easier to make good choices.
