Internships have long been regarded as an effective method of providing university students with basic job knowledge and experience, thereby improving their employability in a competitive labor market. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants that influence internship effectiveness, specifically to the extent to which student interns' characteristics and organizational practices influence internship success. This study used frequency and percentage distribution, mean and standard deviation and Pearson correlation analysis. Data was collected from Bachelor of Science in Accountancy of Mindanao State University - General Santos City Academic Year 2019-2020, which consists of 88 student interns. The findings of the study revealed that the individual practices have stronger association with internship effectiveness than organizational ones, and positive attitude and challenges in the internship was the strongest determinant among the factors. Task clarity on the other hand, shows minimal effect to the effectiveness of internship. Nevertheless, the independent variable and dependent variable has a significant relationship.
