THE USE OF ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE TOWARDS THE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY

Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of using accounting software towards the business performance of small and medium enterprises in General Santos City. The respondents of this study were limited to small and medium enterprises operating in General Santos City. Specifically, the respondents are owners or any employee whose knowledgeable in the business' accounting software. The respondents responded through a survey questionnaire. This research employed a quantitative-correlation method in evaluating the data. The study used descriptive statistics, central tendency (mean) and Pearson-R Correlation Model. The result shows that the utilization level of accounting software of small and medium enterprise indicates a high utilization level of accounting software. The result shows that the level of business performance of small and medium enterprise in terms of processing of financial data and internal control is very high. Moreover, the results disclosed a significant relationship between the stated variables which led to the rejection of the null hypothesis. This indicates that the accounting software is connected to the business performance in terms of processing of financial data and internal control.
