This study identified and documented 43 macrofungi specimens belonging to 33 genera, 24 families, six orders (Agaricales, Auriculariales, Polyporales, Russulales, Pezizales, and Xylariales), three classes (Agaricomycetes, Pezizomycetes, and Sordariomycetes), and two phyla (Ascomycota and Basidiomycota), in Siok Falls, Koronadal, South Cotabato. The specimens were identified based on their morphological features and compared with reference collections. The study used a combination of purposive and opportunistic sampling. The study also explored the factors that influenced their occurrence such as distance from the riverbank, substrate type and subrate's pH level. The study found that macrofungi collected from Siok Falls prefer wood substrate and substrates which are slightly acidic. They were also more common near the riverbank, indicating moisture and nutrient availability. The study suggested and recommended DNA barcoding for accurate identification. This study contributes to the knowledge of macrofungi diversity in Siok Falls.
