Abstract

The growth and development of Juvenile Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens Regan, 1910) is subjected to different diets. The five different diets were used and designated as: TR1 (100% Live food), TR2 (100% formulated food), TR3 (50% live food and 50% formulated food), TR4 (75% live food and 25% formulated food and TRS (25 % live food and 75% formulated food) (TR-treatment). TRI was reported to have the highest specific growth rate on length (2.354 ^ a plus/minus 0.947%) and weight (3.031 plus/minus 0.351%) There is no significant difference on specific growth rate on weight among the other treatments. However, the specific growth rate on length of B. splendens Regan, 1910 shows significant difference (p = 0.001) among other treatments. The development on coloration was recorded using photo documentation. The performance of growth and development of B. splendens Regan, 1910 had the best result at 100% live food diet which has a higher values of data recorded and has 100% survival rate.
