The goal of this study is to develop instructional materials that could be used by mathematics teachers who will be teaching GEC 104 with the course title Mathematics in the Modern World. One aspect of Mathematics in the Modern World is appreciating geometric designs. The researcher intended to produce a set of activities on Circle Arts that will be used as a guide for students’ activities on the topic appreciating geometric designs.
The activity sheets include the following activities:
- Making a Tetrahedron and Octahedron
- Making a Paper Ball
- Making a Dahlia Flower
- Making a Medalion Flower
- Forming a Sphere from Four Circles
- Making a Circular Pop-up Greetings Card
- Making a Wind Mill Flower
The researcher conducted a seminar-workshop on Circle Art Activities for the fourth-year BS Mathematics students of Mindanao State University, General Santos City. During the workshop, the students evaluated the Rubric on Acceptability of Circle Art Activities. The acceptability indicators from I to 10 were rated strongly agree by 19 students of fourth-year BS Mathematics of Mindanao State University. Therefore, the Circle Art Activities Sheets is very highly acceptable to the respondents. The output for activities was the final form of the 7 Circle Art Activities.
