LGU AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP: OBLIGATION AND PROMOTION OF ECO TOURSIM IN KIAMBA, SARANGANI PROVINCE

This study aims to provide information and knowledge on the importance of ecotourism and the role of LGU and the community towards ecotourism development through partnership-initiatives in Kiamba, Sarangani Province. In partnership with DENR and PAMB, the LGU conducts various programs and activities with the help of the community to support ecotourism in different barangays. Ecotourism is one of the contributing factors to the economic growth of the municipality.

More specifically, it aims to identify the role of LGU and community towards the ecotourism and provide knowledge and lesson that helps conserve and preserve the natural resources. This study shows how the LGU and community work together in their obligations for the promotion of ecotourism. This study adopts a qualitative-descriptive type of research method in gathering data that determine the challenges, partnership-initiatives, and other contributing factors involved in the obligation of the LGU and the community of Kiamba in promoting

ecotourism.
