THE IMPACT OF POLYGAMOUS MARRIANGE ON SELECTED MAGUINDANAON FAMILY IN BARANGAY, PINOL, MAITUM, SARANGANI PROVINCE

Abstract

Polygamy is permitted in Islam, but only under one condition: the husband must treat his wives fairly in all issues under his control. He must split his entire riches and spend time equally between his wives and their children, especially his nights and valuable time with the family. The purpose of the study was to determine the most common perceived reason for polygamous marriage among the respondents, as well as the positive and negative impact of polygamous marriage on the respondents' lives in terms of emotional, social behavior, academic adjustment, economic religious belief, and how the respondents describe their relationship with their polygamous marriage family members, as well as how they apply their knowledge of Islamic views on polygamous marriage to their lives.

The study found out that the Common Perceive Reason for Polygamous Marriage is Rank 1 for Part of Religious Belief (Sunnah) and Personal Decision with 30 or 100% of the total population. According to the Common Perceive Reason of Polygamous Marriage, Rank 1 is for Part of Religious Belief (Sunnah) and Personal Decision, with 30 or 100% of the total population. Rank 1 for Jealous with 30 or 100% of the total population; Rank 1 for Interactive with 30 or 100% of the total population; Academic Performance Rank 1 for Not Motivated to Go to School with 23 or 77%; Economic Stability Rank 1 for Good Economic Status with 16 or 53% of the total population; Religious Belief Rank 1 for Increase in Faith with 27 or 90% of the total population; Rank 1 for Manageable with 29 or 97% of the total population. Application of Islamic Knowledge in a Polygamous Family, Rank 1 for Belief in Qadar (Predestined), Part of Islamic Faith (Iman), Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), Aim of Paradise in the Hereafter with 30 or 100% of the total population.
