Generally, Madrasah as an indigenous school, often fails to provide the practical skills and academic knowledge that parents view as important for their children's future while their counterpart secular schools provide these skills and knowledge, and this made Muslim families not comfortable with madrasah as a learning institution.
This study was conducted to motivate Muslim youth in attending madrasah in Tinagacan, General Santos City. On top of that, this study will be significant and meaningful to to the researchers, teachers, madrasah administrators and policy makers of both Islamic Studies and History.
The researcher used the qualitative research design and the respondents of this study were the Muslim residents of Barangay Tinagacan, General Santos City selected by purposive sampling technique. The researcher used survey questionnaire in gathering the data. The study shows that most of the respondents' answers are similarly-alike and acknowledged how Muslim youth will be motivated in attending madrasah education. The results served as groundwork for more in-depth understanding of Muslim youth to be motivated in attending madrasah.
