THE CREATION AND CARRYING ON OF GKK SAINT JOSEPH THE WORKER, PUROK 21, BARANGAY FATIMA, GENERAL SANTOS CITY

Abstract

Our Lady of Fatima Parish is composed of 46 GKKs. One of these is the GKK Saint

Joseph the Worker located at Purok 21, Barangay Fatima General Santos City.

The study is about the establishment and the people who are in charge of creating this Basic Ecclesial Community or GKK, considering the community in the location, constraints and solutions, and the various activities conducted by the Basic Ecclesial Communities not only then but also in the present. The researcher used the methods such as informant interview, and documentary analysis to have narratives about the creation and Carrying on of GKK St. Joseph the Worker

The result of the study found out that the GKK St. Joseph the Worker was once belonged to Purok 21 GKK chapel. One reason that the GKK Saint Joseph the Worker was being created is because of the continuous number of people residing there. They chose Saint Joseph the Worker as their Patron Saint, since many of the people were similar to the characteristic of Saint Joseph for being hardworking man.

Therefore, the study concluded that the GKK Saint Joseph the Worker has underwent difficulties in gathering the members given that it is semi-active one. The GKK Saint Joseph the Worker needs re-orientation or recollection for officials and members for them to be able to manage the solidarity for the betterment of the chapel and community.
