Abstract

Every Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) or GKK created an impact not just in spiritual aspect but also on the life and cultural aspect of the members of GKK San Miguel at Zone 3, Block 0, Barangay Fatima, General Santos City.
The purpose of this research was to learn about the history and significance of the GKK San Miguel to its members and the parish. In accordance with this, this study used a qualitative approach in research and data collection, combining historical and descriptive approaches.
According to the findings of the study, the formation of GKK San Miguel began when the parish and the Catholic community decided to have their own GKK officials and gathered the members for the selection of the patron. The study also sought to ascertain the following: (1) the process of establishing the GKK; (2) the process by which they chose their patron; (3) the activities of the GKK and the parish; and (4) the problems and how they were resolved it.
