There are 46 GKKs formed under the Our Lady of Fatima Parish. GKK Sto. Niño at Vineyard, Brgy. San Jose is one of the GKKs under the Our Lady of Fatima Parish located at Purok 12, NASA Village, Barangay Fatima, General Santos City. The concern of the study is the creation and the carrying on of GKK Sto. Niño and its importance to the members and the parish, the people involved in creating the chapel, and the steps in its approval to become the official devotion. The researcher used the Key Informant Interview and Document Analysis method to answer this problem - to interview the present and former GKK officers, members, pioneers, and parish GKK Ministry coordinator and analyze the presented
documents.
The result of the study revealed the creation of GKK. Sto. Niño began when the pioneering members decided to build their GKK in 1985 for the members' convenience because their place was too far away from the parish. The organizers of the GKK attended BCC seminars and elected Ad hoc officers as the requirement of the parish. The residents held an assembly to select the patron saint and the creation of their church/chapel. They chose their patron saints because of the following reasons: (1) It was the decision of the majority, and (2) It was the original patron saint of the organizer's places of origin. (3) Personal devotions. The GKK Parish Ministry Coordinator revealed and classified as inactive church the status of the GKK Sto. Niño at Vineyard, Brgy. San Jose. The study also revealed that the GKK Sto. Niño members also experienced misunderstandings that resulted in chaos. Nevertheless, they solved the constraint and misunderstandings due to their better communication and by showing respect.
