The Our Lady of Fatima Parish administers the 46 Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) in the Barangay Fatima, General Santos City.
This study is about the creation and carrying on of the GKK Queenship of Mary, located at Purok 13B, Barangay Fatima. This study describes how the Catholic church stirred the creation of the GKK; the importance of the GKK among its members and the parish; the Parish Coordinator's view in GKK Queenship of Mary; and what were the constraints met and the effective attention undertaken to carry on their GKK. To make the study successful, the researcher used the following methods: interview the Old and New GKK Pastoral Council members and analysis of GKK Pertinent Documents and Photos.
The Catholic Church stirred up by creating the creation of the Basic Ecclesial Community as a pastoral strategy to realize their intention of bringing together the Christians. The GKK Queenship of Mary was created in August 1997 because of the desire of the people to have their own GKK. Then, they set up officers to take the lead to make that plan to have their own GKK. It was important for both the GKK and the Parish to constantly interest with each other because the parish was the basis of what the GKK would do. The GKK conduct activities taken base on what it would do in accordance with what the parish wanted.
According to the Parish coordinator's view, the GKK Queenship of Mary is a semi- active GKK. Despite of that, it did not hinder the desire of the active members to sustain their group. In addition, even with faced with different problems, they could solved it by encouraging others to participate and by supporting their Christian community.
