THE EFFICIENCY OF ONLINE LANGUAGE TEACHING AMONG SHS ENGLISH TEACHERS IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

During the Covid 19 pandemic, the educational sector began to look at teaching from a new perspective. As a new technique of studying and teaching, online distance education has been introduced. The current study aims to assess the effectiveness of the English teachers with the challenges they experienced during the pandemic and teaching perspective on the effectiveness of online teaching in the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the findings of this study, the factors that affects the English Language teaching effectiveness of the SHS teachers are the infrastructure, computer skills, online class management, teaching methods, motivation and willingness, assessment methods, and social aspects. All of these have a significant beneficial impact on online teaching efficacy. As a result, this study suggests that it is critical to prepare and support instructors for online teaching so that they know what to expect and how to build their online teacher personas utilizing technology-assisted pedagogies, as well as establish positive attitudes toward online teaching.
