READING FLUENCY WORKBOOK FOR GRADE 7 STUDENTS

Abstract

This study entitled "Reading Fluency Workbook for Grade 7 Students," it identified the reading fluency of Grade 7 students and to develop a workbook to help improve the reading fluency skill of the respondents. The subjects of the study were the Grade 7 pupils of Ligaya National High School, school year 2020 Iri 2021. The 164 words selection entitled "PAIN" adopted from Phil - manual was used to identify the level of reading fluency of Grade 7 students in terms of accuracy, speed and prosody. The researchers used video recorder to record the reading performance of the respondents. The results showed that the level of accuracy of the respondents has a percentage of 90.03 described as Instructional Level, most of the respondents are slow readers and the level of prosody of the respondents has a percentage of 9.66 classified as Good Progress. Furthermore, the reading fluency workbook was validated using the validation tool adapted from Balitaan (2012) in terms of content, presentation and appropriateness. The result of the validation showed that the Oral Reading fluency Workbook for Grade7 Students is Highly Valid ".
