This study is intended to determine that face-to-face turn-taking could not be replaced by turn-taking in group chats. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions, (1) What is the turn-taking component and structure used in the group chats? (a.) Turn-taking Conversation Units, (b.) Transition Relevant Point., (2) What are the rules formulated from the turn-taking in group chats. The researcher joined five (5) group chat from facebook messenger and related to academics or educational matters to describe the conversation line based on the aspect of turn-taking conversion unit and transition relevant point and identified which rules are formulated in the turn-taking conversation in group chats. The turn-taking component and structure used in the group chats are the turn-taking conversation units (TCU). results according to its following types are: clausal (39.76%); sentential (27.62%); lexical (18.97%); and phrasal (13.66%).
