COPING ABILITY: COPING MECHANISM OF CHARACTERS IN DAVID FINCHER'S FILMS THAT REFLECTS IN HUMAN NATURE

Abstract

Archetypes are literary devices which were a character created based on the qualities or traits that were specific and identifiable for the spectators. This study is about the archetypes of the main character in the films of David Fincher which has these main characters. Upon this research the characters had exposed their own self and did the Archetypes of Karl Jung affected on how they cope with each struggle. The archetypes that were used in this study would help the researcher to identify what are their struggles. This research aimed to open people's mind into deeper sense of the characters in the films of David Fincher. There are things that every director put into those characters that made the people hooked to story. This study would like to bring the readers into deeper understanding of Archetypes and Transactional Theory that had been applied in this study. Also to educate some people about the literary devices that being applied in this study. Finally, this hopes to help people understand about different types of coping mechanisms that humans use to be able to survive the world.
