The presentation and usability of instructional material can help in the development of student's language skills. This research studied and identified the vocabulary skills of Grade 8 students of Poblacion Polomolok National High School. In order to determine the students' vocabulary skills, a survey- questionnaire and rating sheet were given to them. These were graded based on the English teachers' perceptions. The first quarter of the English DEPED Curriculum Guide served as the foundation for creating the instructional materials (2016). The vocabulary skills of Grade 8 students are normally in the "least difficult to difficult" range. Three (3) MA teachers evaluated the instructional materials. The vocabulary skills instructional material has a very high level of validity in terms of content, presentation, and appropriateness, resulting in an overall mean of very highly valid. For students to truly understand, become familiar with, and master context clues especially definition or explanation clues, synonym and antonym clues, which were classified as "difficult," cause and effect clues, as well as the meaning of idioms, which were classified as "least difficult" based on the level and perception of teachers to their students, it is important that instructional
materials for vocabulary skills on context clues be developed.
