This study aimed to determine the three factors of intrinsic motivation which is intrinsic motivation-knowledge, intrinsic motivation-accomplishment and intrinsic motivation- stimulation. It also sought to determine the relationship between intrinsic motivation and academic performance of the total respondents of 203 Grade 8 students. As respondents, they were the recipients of the instruments used in gathering the data needed for this particular study. Results showed that the students are highly motivated on the three factors since the result reveals almost the same mean scores for the three IM- knowledge with the mean x=3.69 (Std. Dev. 1.04407), IM- accomplishment with the mean x= 3.58 (Std. Dev. 1.11013) and IM- stimulation with the mean x=3.54 (1.07859). It also showed that the students have satisfactory level in academic performance in English. The 9% of the students have an outstanding level of academic performance, 25% have a Very satisfactory level of the academic performance, 125% have a Satisfactory, and 40% have a fairly satisfactory level and 5% of the student did not meet the expectation of the academic performance in English. Future researchers are encouraged to investigate the different year level of the same school would appear to be beneficial to the institution to incorporate the findings in the planning an execution of their mission and vision to fully engage the students in their learning of English.
