WORKBOOK FOR VIEWING SKILLS OF GRADE 7 LEARNERS

Abstract

Viewing is a skill that are commonly practice even in school. This study sought to identify the level of difficulty of the viewing comprehension skills as basis to produce a validated viewing instructional materials of grade 7 students; To find out the level of difficulty, a survey to get the perceptions of English teachers in Silway- 8 National High School and Schola de San Jose of Polomolok produce viewing instructional materials using matrix in distribution of tasks based on the finding of the survey. After which, a number of experts in the field validated the content. The study found out that the most difficult viewing skills for grade 7 was "Making a stand on the material viewed and the least difficult among the six competencies was Predicting the gist of the material viewed based on the title, pictures, and excerpts of the material viewed. The results showed that the validated and reliability of the viewing instructional materials were highly valid and very highly acceptable for classroom use. After a thorough analysis of the findings and conclusions the following areĀ  recommended to use these viewing materials in the classroom for further validation.
