Abstract

This paper analyzes the interaction of the main characters with nature, identifies the environmental threats to the character and to the nature itself and on how they deal with the environmental threats. To answer this problem, the researcher used the formalistic approach in analysing the main characters' interactions with nature and ecocriticism theory in identifying the environmental threats and in dealing the threats to the characters and to the nature itself. The results showed that characters discovered a chemical that contaminated the water and affected human health. They helped people get justice they deserved and stand against the giant companies and were able to help people and nature better. This study recommends to further study on any texts- novels, short stories, or poems which have environmental issues on it, films that focused on fictional and pre-historic animals such as Godzilla and Jurassic animals, and on any texts- novels, short stories, or films using the Ecocriticism Theory's Tropes and Approach- Pastoral, Wilderness, or Ecofeminism Approach.
