Abstract

Green onion also known as spring onion is an herbaceous biennial plant in the lileacea family, grown for edible bulb and has swallow rooted plant. The pot expirement was conducted at Mindanao State University, General Santos City, Agronomy Thesis Area, from January 2019 to March 2019.

This study aimed to determine the effects of cow manure tea with fresh Madre de cacao, Ipil-ipil, Neem leaves on green onion and to determine the levels of Cow manure tea w/fresh Madre cacao, Ipil-Ipil , and Neem leaves that is effective in promoting optimum yield of green onion.

A complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this study. There were four (4) treatments replicated three times. The treatments were as follows: T1- Control (No Application); T2 -10ml/ L of H2O of cow manure tea w/ fresh madre cacao, ipil-ipil and neem leaves; T3 -30ml/ L of H2O of cow manure tea w/ freash madre cacao, ipil-ipil and neem leaves.

Results revealed that the cow manure tea with fresh madre cacao, ipil-ipil, and neem leaves has highly significant effect on plant height; number of leaves, plant weight, and plant yield of green onion, while no significant result was observed in the number of tillers and root length. Cow manure tea with fresh madre cacao, ipil-ipil, and neem leaves as substrate enhanced the growth and yield of green onion leaves. The optimum level of application was found to be optimum at 30ml/ L of water.
