Edgar Paul P. Magbanua
Abstract

The feasibility of sugarcane bagasse as thermal insulation boards were investigated in this study. Three varying mixtures of bagasse-binder boards were made, tested, and compared to polystyrene board, having the same thickness. With the use of a specially made setup boxes and digital thermo-hygrometers, these data were obtained and analyzed. Then, the results of the experimentation of the three test materials used were shown in data tables and graphs-to provide casier visualization, comparison, and to see the differences between each outcome. At the end, through data comparison, it was found out that the thermal insulating capability of sugarcane bagasse boards is comparable to that of the polystyrene board.
