Statistical Analysis On Cement Additives And Chemical Admixtures Used In Concrete By Construction Professionals In General Santos City

     As a consequence of economy growth and infrastructure developments in General Santos City, the demand for construction materials, including cement and concrete, is increasing. Sometimes special qualifies are expected from concrete that cannot be always achieved routinely by using conventional materials and standard mixing, placing and curing practices. And the used of cement additives and chemical admixture were the most effective way to improve the quality of the concrete, and to give them desired properties for fresh and hardened concrete.

     This study focused on the statistical analysis of cement additives and chemical admixtures being used in the concrete by the construction industry in General Santos City through a survey research. The survey was performed by 46 construction professionals. Based on the results, regardless of what new and exciting cement additives and chemical admixtures introduced by the concrete developers in the construction industry, several construction professionals were still rooted to the traditional concrete practices and contented with the quality of their concrete products. This indicates the need to further introduce the cement additives and chemical admixtures in the construction industry.
