Problems associated with traffic such as traffic congestion and pollution, have occurred in major urban areas in particular due to high auto travel demand on all roads. Frequent traffic congestion has caused society to suffer efficiency loss in terms of idle time on the road and contributed to environmental deterioration as well, particularly the worsening air quality caused by pollution from automotive emissions. Creating well-used transport services requires a good understanding of how factors influence demand for public transport and travel mode choice. Thus, this paper intends to determine the factors influencing the choice of mode of transportation from Centro Uhaw, Barangay Fatima to City Proper. The findings of this study aim to provide a better understanding of the factors and for policymakers to formulate more effective public transportation in the future. The factors will be statistically analyzed and the weighted mean will be assigned to the cache of factors. This study also determines what mode of transportation is preferred by commuters of both genders, at any age and in every employment status. A survey was carried out using questionnaires and responses from commuters of Centro Uhaw, Barangay Fatima, and commuters of students of Mindanao State University. A total of 777 feedbacks were analyzed through the Likert Scale.
