Abstract
Generator is the core of the wind turbine, and it converts the rotational energy, driven by the kinetic energy of the wind, and converts it into electrical energy using induction. This paper evaluates the performance of commercial ceiling fan motors for generator applications. Ceiling fan motors with 7 watts, 9 watts, 12 watts, 15 watts, and 20 watts were tested in different revolution per minute and have evaluated its power generated. The results indicate that as the revolution per minute increases, the power generated also increases. It was also observed that the 20-watts ceiling fan motor generated the highest power compared to the other ceiling fan motors tested.
