Study On Production Efficiency Improvement Through Evaluation Of Workers Behaviour

Abstract

     In this fast-growing construction industry, the most demanding issue is how to improve the labor productivity. Labor productivity measures the economic development within a country. The company has high productivity if it minimizes the input and maximizes the output. 

     Construction workers has a huge influence in determining labor productivity. The performance of labor is affected by many circumstances and is usually associated to the performance of time, cost, work pressure, safety measures and quality. Focusing on how these factors affect the workers' behavior can help the contractor to improve production efficiency.

     The main objective of this study is to determine how factors like wages and salary, working time, compensation for labors, job satisfaction, communication and safety measures affect the workers' productivity. Data are gathered through survey questionnaires and distributed to the respondents in the construction industry in General Santos City. A total of 90 responses were analyzed through Likert scale.
