THE GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF KABIR CHICKENS FED WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF CENTROSEMA (Centrosema molle) LEAF MEAL ADDED TO COMMERCIAL RATION

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effects of different feed levels of Centrosema molle leaf meal on the feed consumption, live weight gain and conversion ratio of Kabir chickens as well as its economic return. The study was conducted at Mindanao State University-General Santos City from January 9-March 9,2019. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in the study with three treatments replicated three times. There were four birds in each replication. Treatments used in the study were 100% Commercial Chick Booster Crumble (T1),95% Commercial Chick Booster Crumble with 5% Centrosema Leaf Meal(T2) and 90% Commercial Chick Booster Crumble 10% Centrosema Leaf Meal (T3). The study revealed no significant difference on live weight gain, feed conversion ratio and feed consumption among treatments. 100% Commercial Chick Booster Crumble has a loss of Php -4.15 (T1),95% Commercial Chick Booster Crumble with 5% Centrosema LeafMeal has a loss of Php-14.28 and 90%Commercial Chick Booster Crumble with 10% Centrosema Leaf Meal has an income of Php 13.28.
