CHARACTER'S FEARS IN THE BOOKS OF ORSON SCOTT CARD AND AARON JOHNSTON

Abstract

This study is qualitative in nature that used content analysis. The researcher utilized the library facilities and other materials that were helpful in this study. The researcher also gather the materials from reading materials both published in paperbacks and Portable Document Format (PDF), which included Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston's Earth Series namely, Earth Unsware Earth Alire, and Earth Awakens. This study identifies and analyses the characters and their roles, as well as their fear and struggles in the story and how they overcome their fears. Using the Psychological and Formalistic Approach, the present study entitled The Characters Fears in the Books of Orson Soort Card and Aaron Jovinsvori, has led to certain conditions that through the major characters in the story of Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston have experienced one common fear, the fear of death. Moreover, the character's physical and psychological struggles are the result of their near-death experiences which they battle to survive
