This study is qualitative in nature that employed content analysis. The study utilized Formalistic Approach in Identifying the subject and theme expressed in the Moro songs as well as determining the underlying cultural values. beliefs, and practices of the Maguindanaon tribe. The results showed that the Moro song written by Johnson Ampaluan touched different subject matters such as the month of Ramadhan, the call for peace and patriotism in Minden.. and the history of the Bangsamoro people. Also, about a child to his mother and a believer in his Creator, as well as about the Bangsamoro warriors, then, lastly about the great journey of a man/traveler. The communicated themes of the selected Moro songs deal with the subjects mentioned above which illustrated the Bangsamoro people, their religion: Islam, the teachings of the Holy Qur'an, their ideologies, then desired freedom, and their call for peace and patriotism. In connection, his song drew out desirable cultural values, beliefs, and practices of the Bangsamoro people that make the songs more interesting and worth sharing. Thus, it can be concluded that indeed, these songs are living testimonies of how rich and historically remarkable their culture is across the tests of time and that Johnson Ampatuan used his song as a medium of expression—a reminder towards Bangsamoro people in the teaching of Islam based on their Holy Qur'an and enlightenment towards others that Islam teaches peace and not violence or aggression.
