Abstract

The study on the growth performance of Kabir chickens as affected by different feed supplements during brooding stage was conducted from September 30 to November 28,2017 to measure specifically their effects in terms of feed consumption, weight gain, water intake, feed conversion ratio, mortality rate and income over feed and chick cost. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in the study with three treatments replicated four times. Treatments used were plain water (T1), Electrogen D+ (T2), Multi lyte (T3) and VitMinPro (T4). There were three birds in each replication. The difference among the treatment means on feed consumption, live weight gain, water intake, and feed conversion ratio was found not significant. Throughout the conduct of the study, only Treatment 1 (Controlled: plain water) was recorded with a mortality rate of 3.33 %. The birds treated with VitMinPro have the highest economic returns of Php. 63.44, followed by the control (Php. 49.68), Multi-lyte (Php. 38.37), and the last was Electrogen D+ (Php. 38.26). Hence, the researcher recommends VitMinPro be given to Kabir chicken during brooding stage.
