Abstract

The study about the effects of different forms of commercial feeds on the growth performance of Kabir Broilers was conducted to measure on specific parameters- feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, average weight gain, percent mortality, and income over fed and chick cost- conducted on April 7, 2019 up to June 6, 2019 at Mindanao State University - General Santos City campus. A Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used with three treatments that were replicated three times. Treatments used were subjected under grower mash (T1), grower pellets (T2) and grower crumble (T3). Each replication was composed of 3 heads of 21 day – old birds. The study lasted for sixty days and revealed a significant difference among the treatments on feed consumption with birds fed with crumble (T3) having the highest levels of consumed feed at 3.67kg, followed by birds fed with pellet (T2) with an average consumed feed of 3.58kg. Birds fed with mash (T1) consumed the least feed of only 3.37kg. The study also revealed a significant difference among the treatments' live weight gain. Birds fed with crumble (T3) and pellet (T2) yielded the highest live weight gain with an average weight gain of 1.12kg. Birds fed with mash (T1) had the lowest weight gain of only 0.93kg. Meanwhile, birds fed with pellets (T2) showed to be the most efficient feed converters which required 3.20kg of feed to produce 1.12kg of weight, followed by birds fed with crumble (T3) which required 3.28kg of feed to gain 1.12 kg of weight, and birds fed with mash (T1) have the least efficiency which required 3.62kg of feed to produce 0.93kg of weight. The result showed no significant difference among treatments in terms of feed conversion ratio. There is zero percent mortality among the treatments and the cost and return analysis showed that birds fed with pellets (T2) gained the most income at Php 52.37, followed by birds fed with crumble (T3) with an income of Php 45.91 and birds fed with mash (T1) that gained the least income of Php 29.52 in all of the treatments.
