THE GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF FATTENING PIGS FED WITH DIFFERENT BRANDS OF COMMERCIAL FEEDS ADDED WITH RICE BRAN

The study on the effects of different brands of commercial rations added with RB on feed consumption, live weight gain, feed conversion efficiency and, income of pigs was laid on a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). Treatments were used (T1) pure Bmeg feeds, (T2) Bmeg feeds with 10% RB, (T3) pure Pilmico feeds and (T4) Pilmico feeds with 10% RB. Pigs fed with pure Bmeg feeds consumed 54.10 kg of feeds while pigs fed with Bmeg feeds with RB consumed 51.20 kg. Pigs fed with pure Pilmico feeds consumed 53.41 kg of feed while pigs fed with Pilmico feeds with RB consumed 52.68 kg of feeds. Pigs fed with pure Bmeg feeds gained 26.86 kg live weight while pigs fed with Bmeg feeds with RB gained 25.49 kg. Pigs fed with Pilmico feeds with RB gained 26.59 kg live weight while pigs fed with pure Pilmico feeds gained 26.50 kg. Pigs fed with Pilmico feeds with RB required 1.98 kg of feeds to gain a unit of live weight while pigs fed with pure Pilmico feeds required 2.02 kg. Those pigs fed with Bmeg feeds with RB needed 2.01 kg while pigs feed with pure Bmeg feeds required 2.03 kg. Income from pigs fed with Bmeg feeds with RB was P 577.98/pig while the P 374.37/pig income was derived from pigs fed with pure Pilmico feeds. The income from pigs fed with Pilmico feeds with RB was P 480.76/pig. Those pigs fed with pure Bmeg feeds gained P 411.54/pig.
