THE EFFECTS OF FEEDING DIFFERENT LEVELS OF DRIED BROILER WASTES ADDED TO COMMERCIAL RATION ON THE GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF COBB BROILERS

Abstract

The study on "The Effects of Feeding Different Levels of Dried Broiler Wastes (DBW) Added to Commercial Ration on the Growth Performance of Cobb broilers" was conducted at Mindanao State University-General Santos City Poultry Project from November 27,2018 to January 03,2019 to determine the effects on feed consumption, live weight gain, mortality rate, feed conversion ratio and income over feed and chick costs. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in the study with four treatments replicated three times. Birds in T1 were fed with 100% Commercial ration, those in T2 were fed with 5% DBW and 95% commercial ration while 92.5% and 90% commercial ration are those birds fed with 7.5% of DBW (T3) and 10% of DBW T4) respectively. The study revealed that birds given 7.5% DBW consumed the highest amount of feeds followed by 10% DBW, then 0% DBW and 5% DBW has the same feed consumption. Live weight gain of the birds in Treatment I and Treatment IV has the highest weight and Treatment II was the least efficient in converting feeds into live weight gain with 1.54 FCR, while 1.53 in Treatment III,1.50 in Treatment IV and the most efficient feed converter were obtained by the birds in Treatment I with a total of 1.48. Birds fed with 0% DBW got the Income Over Feed and Chick Costs of Php 32.62 followed by those birds fed with 5% DBW with Php 28.88 IOFCC and those birds fed with 7.5% with Php 30.61. The highest IOFCC was achieved by those birds in 10% DBW with a profit of Php 36.00.
