Abstract

The study on the effects of different levels of cockroach meal added to home- made ration on the growth performance of Cobb broilers was conducted at Mindanao State University, General Santos City in 35 days from March 19 to April 23,2019 The study was laid out using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments (0, 5, 10, 15% PSM) replicated three times. The results showed that the feed consumption, live weight gained and feed conversion efficiency was statistically not significant. Birds fed with 15% CM had the highest feed consumption of 2.70 kg in 35 days while birds fed with 0,5, and 10% CM consumed 2.66,2.67 and 2.68 kg respectively. Income analysis revealed that birds under T1 gave the highest IOFCC with 12.27 Php. Birds fed with 15% CM in the ration gained the highest live weight of 1.02 kg followed by birds fed with 10% CM with 1.01 kg while those birds with 0 and 5% CM in the ration both gained an average live weight of 0.93. The most efficient in converting the feeds into live weight were the birds fed with 15% CM in the ration requiring only 2.63 kg of feeds to gain a unit of live weight. The birds given 0,5 and 10% CM in the ration need 2.83, 3.29 and 2.67 kg of feeds to gain a unit of live weight, respectively.
