Abstract

The study on the effects of Camote Tops (Ipomoea batatas) leaf meal on the growth performance of Native Chickens was conducted at the College of Agriculture poultry project from October 24,2017-December 24,2017. A total of 36 heads of Native Chickens were distributed with three treatments replicated three times. Four birds were assigned to each replication in a Complete Randomized Design (CRD). There was a significant difference recorded in terms of live weight gain. However, birds in T2 with 5% CTLM obtained the highest live weight gain of 1.07 kg and consumed feed with a total of 4.46 kg. Birds fed with 5% CTLM consumed the highest consumption 4.46 kg followed by the birds fed with pure commercial feeds 4.41 kg and 10% CTLM consumed 4.38 kg. This reveled that there was a high significance in terms of feed consumption. The most efficient converter of feeds into meat were birds fed with 5% CTLM of 4.17 kg and had the sale value of Php.203.4/ bird followed by the birds fed with pure commercial feeds 4.41 kg amounting to Php. 190.8/birds and birds fed with 10% CTLM 4.68 kg with Php. 180/birds.
