ALLEGORIES IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION

This study is qualitative in nature that employed content analysis. The study utilized Formalistic Approach in identifying and discussing the allegories and the message they convey as well as their significance in the Book of Revelation. The results showed that the allegories in the Book of Revelation reveal the judgment of God to the world and to the people living in it. Also, they unveil both the destructive cataclysms and curses that will occur to those people who are disobedient to God's commands and the wonderful promise of God to those who are obedient and persistent until the end comes. Moreover, these allegories were hidden through the use of symbolic images, figures and actions. The researcher found out that these symbols make the Book of Revelation a mystery yet an interesting page in the Bible. Finally, the unveiled allegories serve as both a teaching and a warning to the people on earth today. These allegories' purpose is to wake up the people and make them realize that they need to repent, to turn away from all known sins and follow Jesus.
