Abstract

A study on microbial analysis of aquaculture shrimp pond along Sarangani bay was conducted for 60 days from January 21 to March 21, 2019. This study aims to compare the total bacterial load and total vibrio count of the two different types of pond according to construction: earthen and lined ponds. The result of the study showed that maximum total plate count of both ponds was recorded on DOC 14, with a value of 553.1 cfu/ml in earthen pond and 3105.32cfu/ml in lined pond. On the other hand, maximum total vibrio count exist on the DOC 49 of both ponds with a value of 71.71 cfu/ml for earthen and 62.44efu/ml for lined pond. Statistical analysis showed that there is no significant difference among the Earthen and Lined ponds over the 8 weeks sampling.
