MARKET ANALYSIS AND QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF FROZEN TUNA PRODUCTS IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY

A study on market analysis of selected barangays and quality assessment of frozen tuna products in General Santos City. Participatory Fisheries Assessment method of data collection such as household survey and market Survey were conducted in the selected barangays of the said city including Lagao, Bula, Calumpang, Fatima, Labangal, Tambler, City Heights, Apopong, San Isidro and Mabuhay. The study included socio-economic profile of the respondents such as age, civil Status, and gender. It also included the consumption rate, retail outlets of the respondents, Satisfaction rate, general acceptability, and criteria for choosing the product. Simple analytical tool such as Slovin’s formula, percentage analysis, relative frequency and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to quantify patched data.
